On the late night of July 28, 2025, A devastating landslide triggered by heavy monsoon rains swept through Taung Swun Village, Pyintayya Township.

Witnesses reported a loud, terrifying noise before a massive surge of water, boulders, and uprooted trees crashed down, destroying over 100 homes and carrying away everything in its path.

The disaster was worsened by cracks in nearby mountains caused by recent earthquakes, which led to collapsing hillsides, blocked streams, and a burst dam. Casualties have been reported, though exact numbers remain unclear.

In response, HOPE Relief Team rushed to provide emergency food supplies and DIGNITY KITS for affected women.
