ADAPT Project Lesson Learned Dissemination Event with Local Partners was held online on August 16, 2023.
The highlight of the event was the presentation on lessons learned from the ADAPT Project, delivered by Dr. Thandar Tun and Dr. Aung San Lin. The comprehensive and informative PowerPoint slides provided valuable lessons and insights gained during its implementation.
The event’s interactive segment saw a lively exchange of feedback, questions, and answers. Dr. Nyunt Naing Thein from RTI commended HOPE for its commendable service and encouraged local CSOs to focus on organizational development for successful partnership with big organizations.
Mr. Tun Tun inquired about the root causes of drug use in Putao and the challenges faced during the project’s implementation. Dr. Simon Thaung responded, highlighting the lack of essential life skills of parent, children, and youth to say NO to DRUGS! as a strong contributing factor.
In his closing remarks, HOPE’s executive director Dr. Simon Thaung stressed the need for collaborative efforts to combat the drug issue in Putao through education, medical intervention, and job creation.
The event saw 40 attendees, leaving participants inspired and motivated to address drug problems and positive change in the region.
