A team of technicians from Myitkyina visited HOPE office today to introduce a new type of stove designed to use less fuel and firewood.
“This is an affordable method that uses locally available resources to help families reduce their family cooking burden,” said the trainer Jay Yee Shi.
The innovation aims to reduce deforestation while promoting efficient and environmentally friendly resource management.
“We don’t need anything else but this to save both our money for firewood and our environment,” said HOPE’s HR Manager, Ah Khi Say.
HOPE staff will begin using these stoves in their own homes and plan to later educate local communities to adopt the method widely across the Putao area.
